BBC Bitesize

BBC Bitesize contains a wide variety of games, activities and videos to support learning in a range of subject areas.  

 

Starting on Monday 11th January, CBBC will broadcast three hours of primary school programmes from 9am every week day. They will include BBC Bitesize Daily, as well as a number of other shows with an educational twist. For more information, and broadcast schedules, please click  here

Twinkl Home Learning Hub

The Twinkl Home Learning Hub contains free activities, games, resources and videos for different year groups across KS1 and KS2. The learning hub is updated daily.

Pobble have compiled a number of activities to encourage children to take a break from screens. 

 

Oak National Academy

Oak National Academy provides free video lessons, slides and worksheets to support teachers and pupils to keep learning. Created by teachers in response to coronavirus, the resources are freely available, to complement the schools' own teaching. Lessons cover a broad range of subjects and ages.

Burlington Junior School makes use of Oak National Academy resources as part of its remote learning offer. Pupils will be directed to particular lessons through Google Classroom.

Pobble 365

For our pupils who enjoy creative writing, take a look at Pobble 365. A new story starter is added to the site each day, along with a picture and some questions to get children thinking. 

 

Oxford Owl for Home

Oxford Owl is an award-winning website from Oxford University Press, created to support children's learning both at home and at school.

Maths 

Mathletics

Mathletics is an engaging online learning platform which provides learners with the opportunity to put their mathematics skills to good use through questions and challenges. Mathletics is curriculum-aligned and pupils are able to work through questions at their level. Pupils receive instant feedback and teachers can review the scores that their pupils achieve.

 

Our pupils are familiar with this platform as it is used regularly to set homework. All of our pupils have an assigned username and password. 

TT Rockstars

Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice. Pupils are able to practise their rapid recall of multiplication facts and compete against others, including their teachers.

I See Maths

I See Maths contains a number of free resources to support pupils when learning at home. This includes teaching videos, challenges and task sheets.

NRich

NRich is a great website to support your child with investigative maths. The investigations are starred (less stars = less challenging).

 

This site also allows you to see how other children have got to the solution and how they have have explained their findings.

The Top Marks website includes a range of games and activities to support your child with their maths learning at home. 

 

Wider Curriculum 

Espresso (through LGfL)

Espresso is a fantastic resource that we subscribe to as a school. It can be found by clicking here. The children will be prompted for their school username and password. Pupils must remember to use .314 after their username. Espresso covers all areas of the curriculum.

 

National Geographic Kids

An online magazine to develop pupils' knowledge and interest in a wide range of topics. 

 

Historic Royal Palaces

This website contains some ideas and resources to help children explore history and the wider world whilst learning at home. 

 

Tate Kids

The Tate Kids website has been created by the Tate Galleries and provides children with opportunities to find our more about artists and their art. There are also games to play and suggestions for those who want to put their creative skills to use. 

 

Barefoot : Learning Together Activities

Barefoot provides a range of computing activities, designed by teaching professionals, for families to do at home with their children.

 

These include mini missions, interactive learning games and learning together activities which challenge pupils' computational thinking. 

Scratch

Scratch allows pupils to practise their coding skills in order to create games and animations. 

 

CBBC Newsround

Newsround is a fantastic child-friendly way for your child to engage with current affairs and learn about national and international news.
