Yr 4 Sayers Croft- Summer 2016
We arrived around 11am, took our suitcases to our dorms and after a short talk and fire drill we went for lunch. We had jacket potatoes with a selection of fillings, followed by a choice of fruit, yoghurt or cake.
Our activities for the afternoon were: rafting, wall climbing, caving, tree ropes, shelter building and woods compass. Lots of fun was had by all and the sun even began to shine!
Following our evening meal, with a choice of sausages, chicken and vegetarian option, we went for a night walk and then orienteering. Mr Williams then took us to the field for some football and other games.
Before bed this evening, we are looking forward to hot chocolate!
It has been a very enjoyable day today, with everyone getting along and trying out new experiences.
After a hearty breakfast, we all set off, along with Mr Blow, for our walk up Pitch Hill. At the top, we ate our picnic over looking the spectacular view. We then tested the soil and air temperature before our return back to Sayers Croft. Once we arrived back, we then re tested the soil and air temperature for comparison.
A refreshing swim was enjoyed by all before dinner, followed by games on the field.
Once again the sun shone and a great day was had by all.
We awoke to an overcast day, sang 'Happy Birthday' to the birthday girl and boy, Ellie and Will, then set off for our activities: ropes, climbing, caving, rafting, river study, stream walk and nature detectives.
We ended our day with an evening activity by the camp fire, where we ate birthday cake and toasted marshmallows!
After the thunderstorms last night, we awoke to a clear morning to enjoy our activities of the river walk, Saxon roundhouse, maize and blindfold trail followed by a swap round of groups to enjoy these plus more activities in the afternoon. Mrs Utting joined us for the day to help us with our fun activities.
The evening ended with the disco, hot chocolate and preparations for our return tomorrow.
Mrs Figueiredo will join us tomorrow for Friday morning's activities. We aim to leave at 1.30pm after lunch. We have had a wonderful time at Sayers Croft but we look forward to coming home to share our experiences with our families.
