This section of the website is where you will find information regarding ex Burlington pupils:
I was a pupil at Burlington (& son of June Fairclough who was a dinner lady at Burlington infants for some years!) before leaving to go to Beverley (Coombe) in 1985/6. I am now working for HSBC which I have been doing for the last 18 years! – I remember Mrs Duff (Infants) who I served behind the counter at HSBC some years ago now – names of those in juniors escape me at the moment.. Mr Griffiths? – don’t think I was taught by him, but recall the name!
I am also a Cub Leader in Motspur Park and have some Burlington pupils in the Cubs!

Having reached the age of 84 (D.O.B 2/3/1929) my school memory is a bit dim! Although I recall playing Cowboys and Indians in the clay pit, which to us was like we were playing in the Grand Canyon!
I went to Burlington School and then to Beverley School which was a long walk from the station. Mr Heal was the headmaster and Mr Carlo Loretto the music teacher. He was a good teacher but mainly by fear, sing a wrong note and he would leap from the platform and lash out with a cane!
After going to Beverly school, I joined the Air Training Corp and went on to join the RAF for 10 years, later in life I joined BOAC & British Airways for 25 years where I trained as an Aircraft Engineer. I retired in 1991.
I find it interesting what happens to pupils when they leave school. I wish my father had told me about his life through both wars but alas he never did.
